Attire

All CMG conference activities, including formal sessions, are casual. Suits are not required nor recommended for attendees.

Badge Policy

Attendees must wear badges to all CMG functions. No one is allowed access to any of the conference week functions without a badge. Guests must wear their badge as proof of their registration and to gain access to exhibits, GREAT and PARS events.

Baggage Check Facility

On check in days and check-out days, the Conference Hotel will provide space to check your bags as you attend meetings or sessions. The Bell Captain at the hotel will check your baggage if you arrive early and your room is not available or if you are attending CMG functions on the day of your departure.

Busing

If overflow hotels are used, free bus service will be available from Sunday through Friday for all attendees.

Cancellation

If the CMG conference cannot be conducted due to acts of God, war, government regulation, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, curtailment of transportation facilities or other emergencies making it inadvisable, illegal or impossible to provide the facilities or to hold the meeting, each prepaid registrant will receive a copy of the conference Proceedings and any other gifts. Membership dues of preregistrants and other fixed conference expenses will be paid from the preregistration funds. Any remaining funds will be refunded to preregistrants. CMG is not responsible for any other costs incurred by preregistrants in connection with the conference.

Coat Room

There will be an unsecured coat room at the hotels.

Conference Attendance

The purpose of CMG is to provide a forum for the interchange of scientific and technical data about the management and measurement of enterprise computing systems. Attendance at the annual conference is offered to any person and is not restricted by age, sex, color, creed, national origin, or type of installed computer equipment.

Daily Newsletter

Last minute changes and updates on the conference, BOF (Birds of a Feather sessions) announcements, session changes, and other miscellaneous items can be found in one easy place. CMG publishes a daily newsletter for attendees, available at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. Pick up your copy at the CMG registration area, in the breakfast area, and other general conference areas.

GREAT Program

The GREAT Program is an organized group of volunteers working with the CMG committee to provide events for spouses, children, and guests of conference attendees. The purpose of this group is to make tours available for these guests so there will be an opportunity to meet as a group and visit some points of interest in our host city, as well as provide as much information and help regarding our stay as is possible. Information Kiosks

Located outside the main Session rooms, staff is on hand to provide assistance on room locations, to contact CMG officials or to offer any other assistance you may need.

Meals

Breakfast, breaks, and lunch are provided Tuesday through Friday for registered attendees. Each attendee must present the appropriate tickets to be served (no exceptions). Your tickets are included in your onsite registration packet. If you prefer vegetarian or kosher meals, simply indicate your preference on your registration form. Kosher and vegetarian choices are not available during PARs functions. If you register onsite, please notify our registration people of your preference so we can ensure sufficient special meals.

Message Center

To ensure that you receive messages in a timely manner, CMG will post messages on message boards located in the registration area. The Message Center hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Any messages after 5:00 p.m. should be left at the attendees' hotels.

Performance Analysts Relaxation Sessions (PARS)

CMG hosts the unique Performance Analysts' Relaxation Sessions (PARS), Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Take a breather, network with other attendees, or just relax after a long day. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres during the first 90 minutes each evening, complimentary soft drinks, designated smoking and quiet areas, and entertainment. You receive eight complimentary drink tickets with your registration packet. Attendees may purchase additional drinks. Each attendee must present the appropriate ticket and their badge at the door without exception.

PLEASE NOTE: No one under the age of 21 will be admitted to PARS. If you have underage children or babies with you, please make arrangements for someone to take care of them for you during PARs.

Press Room

A press room is available from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Recruiting

As the intent of the meeting is to share information, not to recruit new staff, there is a "NO RECRUITING" policy at the conference. Deliberate recruiting (such as posting recruiting notices, making general announcements, recruiting conversations with specific individuals, etc.) is specifically prohibited at any meeting or any other activity sponsored by CMG.

Smoking

CMG's no smoking policy encompasses all CMG activities including CMG Sessions, the Exhibit Area, all meals, and PARS functions. There will be designated areas for cigarette smokers. The smoking of cigars and pipes is prohibited at all CMG events. We appreciate your compliance with this policy.

Speaker Ready/Dry Run Room

Reserved for use by conference speakers, this room is available from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. If you wish to use this room, please sign up onsite for a time slot.

Special Needs

If you have special needs addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act, please go to the Special Assistance Desk in the CMG registration area. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate your special needs.
