CMG2003 (TM) LOGO Call for Papers
CMG2003, Dallas
December 7-12, 2003

Performance evaluation and capacity management of complex processor environments require careful attention. In difficult economic times, gains in productivity and efficiency are a necessity. Simply stated, CMG2003 will be the single conference whose complete focus is on performance and capacity evaluation techniques and management practices across multiple platforms.

In that light, CMG is asking for papers and presentations that focus on performance and capacity issues in the areas listed below. Submissions at all levels are requested: tutorial, technical, managerial and leading edge. Standard papers are up to 12 pages in length, and are scheduled in 60- or 90-minute sessions (includes 5-10 minutes of Q&A). For the first time, we are also asking for "short" papers: up to 3 pages in length that will be scheduled within a 25 minute window. "Short" papers are meant to convey user experiences. In addition, we are also soliciting "How To" papers that explain how to apply popular tools and products to common performance and capacity problems. "How To" presentations are meant to educate performance professionals in the use of commercially available technology.

Subject Areas
  • z/OS - CICS, IMS, DB2, Batch, WLM, Capacity on Demand, Software Licensing, etc.
  • LINUX / Unix / NT / XP - VM, IBM, Sun, HP, Unisys, and Intel platforms
  • Websphere / Web / eBusiness - eCommerce, Java, .NET, Web Services, SOAP, XML, etc.
  • Future Technologies - Grid / autonomic computing, applications of AI in performance, etc.
  • Executive Management - Issues facing upper level management/CIO such as finance, cost recovery, ROI, staffing, etc.
  • Storage - Tape and disk technologies, SANs, Storage Performance Council issues, etc.
  • Network Performance - Log file analysis, obtainable performance goals, etc.
  • Modeling / Statistics / Applied Math - Simulation and analytic modeling, practical applications of performance statistics, workload forecasting, etc.
  • Database Performance - Database performance evaluation of DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, etc.
